EKT hardening machines

Medium-frequency and high-frequency generators find their use in various areas of industry. One of the main fields of application, proven over many years, is hardening machines. HFR generators can be applied in the heat treatment of metals in two principal cases: use in new hardening machines, or the refurbishment of existing older hardening machines with the simultaneous replacement of the – usually vacuum-tube – GV series generators with a new transistor-based medium-frequency or high-frequency HFR generator.

A showcase example is the refurbishment of the EKT hardening machine.

EKT hardening machines are still in operation for the series hardening of parts. However, the GV22 and GV80 high-frequency generators are often in very poor technical condition, and the supply of spare parts is an ever-growing problem. Rajmont s.r.o. has developed a compact solid-state HF generator with 22kW and 50kW output, mechanically compatible with the old transformer HF unit of the GV series generators. Installation of the new generator takes about 6 hours. All inductors used to date can continue to be used. The investment in a new HFR-type HF generator pays for itself within 1-2 years through electricity savings alone – and much sooner in the event of a tube failure.
